The Chinese Martial Art of Xinyiliuhequan

-Have you ever wanted to learn authentic Chinese wushu?

-Are you interested in a beautiful, pragmatic martial art that provides a holistic approach to physical wellness, mindfulness, self-confidence, and self-defense?

-Curious about how a practice that is hundreds of years old can be applied to surviving and thriving in the modern world (and most importantly in enhancing ordinary day-to-day life)?

Xinyiliuhequan (aka “Xinyi”) is a unique Chinese martial art that can be reliably dated back to at least the mid-1700s. The art consists of, but is not limited to:

·        The Ten Animals – like the most ancient of martial arts, Xinyi attempts to emulate the form, intention, and evolved wisdom of a variety of animals

·        The Six Harmonies – ways of combining internal with external; intention and courage with the body and energy

·        The Five Elements / Yin-Yang Theory – philosophical lenses for considering martial techniques, health, and the world

·        The Seven Fists – developing the whole body as a “fist”, starting with the hands, elbows, shoulders, feet, knees, hips, and head

·        Other – a host of practices for developing calm stillness, graceful movement, explosive power, balance, body conditioning, flexibility, dynamic two-person drills, self-defense applications, etc.
